Head of Philetaerus r. wearing laurel wreath entwined with diadem / Athena seated left. SNG Fr 1606-9.

Eumenes I was the nephew of the first ruler of Pergamum, Philetaerus. The obverse of this coin depicts Philetaerus with the personal characteristics of small, heavy lidded eyes, loose and flat cheeks, large powerful jaw and thick neck.
