Head of young Heracles in lion's skin r. / Aetolia seated right on Macedonian and Gallic shields. BMC 265.
One of the first issues in central Greece with obverse representing Heracles wearing lion's skin, this coin may be considered a memorial to the routs of Macedonians and Gauls. Its reverse is possibly modeled on a statue set up in Delphi of Aetolia as an armed woman seated on a pile of Gallic shields.Rare.
